Janet (Belleli) Goodvach is an Australian-qualified lawyer working at Asserson Law Offices in Israel. She was admitted as an Australian lawyer in early 2000 and has since worked predominantly in the area of litigation and dispute resolution (including in London).

Janet completed her arts law degree at Monash University with a major in International Politics in 1998.  She began her career as in house counsel for TAC Law, then worked for six years for Arnold Bloch Leibler (being appointed senior associate in 2006).  In 2008 Janet lived in London and was an associate at Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP (London Office).  Prior to moving to Israel, Janet was a senior associate in the litigation department of Corrs Chambers Westgarth Lawyers.

Janet has experience in successful resolution of small scale disputes and large complex multi-party disputes through court proceedings, arbitrations and mediation.  She has acted for companies in the oil and gas sector relating to disputes over rights to royalties, contractual and fiduciary duties, developing an in-depth understanding of the oil & gas industry, exploratory and production permit requirements, and subsea oil installation projects.  Janet also has extensive experience in insolvency and administration (including cross-border insolvency) having represented both creditors and liquidators in insolvency and administration proceedings, and having acted for the administrators of Ansett Airlines in various disputes, an in particular in litigation relating to pension scheme entitlements in the insolvency context.

Janet has represented clients in the areas of:

  • Telecommunications industry: breaches of contract, advices regarding strategies to reduce legal spend.

  • Representing high net worth individuals.
  • Forensic investigations / evidence management.
  • Australian and Victorian Government: advices for government departments, legislative submissions, administrative reviews, freedom of information applications.
  • Pro bono work: advices and litigation assistance for community groups, Indigenous Australians, welfare organisations and environmental groups.

Janet also has general commercial law experience, including being the lawyer responsible for drafting a major joint venture arrangement for waste services management in shopping centres across Australia.

Janet lives in Israel with her husband and three children.
