Elliot Lister is a UK solicitor in practice at Asserson Law Offices in Israel. Elliot worked in the UK for over ten years, where he was an associate in the litigation departments at two Manchester city centre firms. Elliot is recommended by the Legal 500 and is listed as an expert in dispute resolution in the 2009 Edition of European Legal Experts.
Elliot graduated in English and Russian from the University of Birmingham, where he served as President of the student body. He began his working life as a lobbyist for human rights in the FSU before moving to law, where he achieved commendations in the Graduate Diploma in Law Common Professional Examination at the University of Central Lancashire, and in the Diploma in Legal Practice at the Manchester Metropolitan University.
Elliot’s experience includes a wide variety of international disputes including assisting on the preparation and management of the defence of the lead defendant of forty defendants in a major international banking claim; defending extradition claims by the governments of France and Australia against international businessmen based in the UK; advising in contested international probate disputes; advising international telecoms companies in a variety of matters including an alleged carousel fraud; and defending a director against allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. Elliot’s experience also includes defamation, international arbitration, injunctive relief, judicial review and various other emergency applications.
Elliot has developed a particular experience in professional negligence claims, having acted against insurance brokers, accountants, solicitors, specialist valuers, and industrial manufacturers. He has also acted in various claims arising out of partnership disputes as well as developing a property litigation practise.
Elliot is married with three children and lives in Israel.
