Allan Ledden is a consultant solicitor in Asserson Law Offices’ Planning and Regeneration team in London.
Allan joined the firm in April 2011 having previously worked in the planning and environment team at leading City firm Pinsent Masons. Allan has spent many years working in local government, including London Boroughs such as Bromley, Sutton, Croydon, Newham, Enfield, City of Westminster, Southwark and Haringey. He was the first Principal Planning Solicitor to the Mayor of London at the Greater London Authority 2001/2002 and is an acknowledged contributor to the London Plan.
He has lectured extensively on planning issues, both to planning officers and developers, at the Royal Town Planning Institute and at Kellogg College, Oxford University.
He has appeared as an advocate at many public inquiries, and as both prosecutor and defence Counsel in planning related criminal proceedings.
His work has included advising local authorities and their elected members on planning issues, considering strategic applications of importance to London for the Mayor and numerous large-scale developments and development plan issues. He has taken through several local plans including Sutton, Croydon & the London Plan and has acted as Deputy Head of Legal Services (managing Planning/Housing & Property) at Newham.
In addition to his work for Asserson Law Offices, Allan is also advising the London Borough of Haringey on their Core Strategy, the redevelopment of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the proposals for the largest waste management site in Europe.
Allan is married with two daughters and lives in South West London.
